Notice: As the His ligated to the Fe is shifted it tkes the entire helix that it is part of with it. As a result the amino acid at the subunit interfacemust shift positions. This is an ionic interaction between an ARG and a GLU in the "T" state, but inthe "R" state these two amino acids are a long distance apart.
